Game Design Framework

PowerUP equips teachers and educators to guide children aged 8–13 as they design their own short interactive games about online safety. These two resources were developed as part of the project’s training and methodological work, building on the first teacher training workshop held in Portugal in June 2026. Both resources are available in English and can be freely downloaded, used and adapted to different educational contexts.

Together, these resources provide the methodological foundation for the project’s classroom activities with children and serve as a basis for the PowerUP replication toolkits.

Training Programme on Online Safety and Educational Video Game Co-Creation with Children

It shows how educators learned to facilitate child-led game design, from writing a first game card to building a playable prototype in TyranoBuilder.

A standalone guide that translates the training into a methodology that any teacher can apply independently. It covers the pedagogical rationale, a six-session classroom timeline, narrative and inclusive design principles, the evaluation framework and ready-to-print templates for both age groups (8-10 with illustrated game cards, 11-13 with TyranoBuilder).
